How to get more Google reviews with simple automation

Send a short, personal review request with a direct link a few hours after a job or visit is finished, follow up once if there's no review, and reply to every review within a day or two.

Most happy customers will leave a review if you ask at the right time and make it easy. The problem is that nobody remembers to ask.

Timing is most of it

Ask when the good experience is fresh: a few hours after a home service job, the same evening after a restaurant visit, the day after an appointment. Wait too long and the moment is gone.

Set it up

  1. Get your direct review link. In your Google Business Profile, copy the link that opens the review box directly.
  2. Pick the trigger. A job marked complete, an invoice paid, an appointment checked out. Use whatever your tools already record.
  3. Write a short request. Use their name and the actual service. Two sentences and the link. Send by text if you can, since it gets read faster.
  4. Follow up once. If there's no review after three days, one gentle reminder. Then stop.
  5. Reply to every review. Have AI draft replies in your voice. Approve them in a batch once a day.

Stay within the rules

  • Ask every customer, not only the ones you think will be happy. Filtering who gets asked can break Google's policies.
  • Don't offer discounts or gifts in exchange for reviews.
  • Never write reviews for yourself or ask staff to.
